Northern Virginia's only Protective Medicine™ offering, with a dedicated Emergency Medical Services (EMS) capability, providing advanced-practice Mobile Integrated Healthcare - Community Paramedicine (MIH-CP), supporting Hospice at home and palliative care patients.
Our Protective Medicine™ and EMS MIH-CP services provide an invaluable complement to Hospice programs and patients. When entering into Hospice at home and palliative care programs, patients often lose access to urgent and emergency medical resources, creating gaps in healthcare access, and unforeseen issues for patients and families.
With an aim to support palliative care plans, in coordination with Hospice at home and private physician practices, EMERGILITY™ provides patients with 24/7 access to urgent, emergency, and protective care not otherwise available.
"Hospice care is for terminally ill patients who decide to forgo curative treatment and instead receive palliative care. To be eligible, a patient must be certified as having a terminal illness with a life expectancy of six months or less if the illness runs its normal course." - HHS OIG
EMERGILITY™ is not a Hospice provider. Rather, we fill gaps and provide enhanced services when and where Hospice cannot. As a dual Protective Security Service (PSS) & Emergency Medical Services (EMS) provider, our focus is entirely on the protection & care of client-patients.
While there are known problem areas in Hospice, our aim is to identify, mitigate, and respond to a variety of protective-medical gaps so patients & families can focus on what's most important - precious time & comfort with their loved ones.
Palliative care and end-of-life situations can be overwhelming, complicated, and scary for patients and families. There is no one-service-fits-all solution when it comes to end-of-life care at any age.
At EMERGILITY™, we approach end-of-life situations with compassion. We communicate, coordinate, and collaborate with providers, practices, and organizations of all sorts. Our services focus on private mobile (MIH-CP), emergent (EMS), and protective (PSS-EMS) care not traditionally available.

“Durable Do Not Resuscitate Order” means a written physician’s order issued pursuant to §54.1-2987.1 to withhold cardiopulmonary resuscitation from a particular patient in the event of cardiac or respiratory arrest.
The (DDNR) Order and its regulations have been developed to carry out the intent of applicable Virginia law that provides a person the opportunity to execute a DDNR Order that comports with his/her wishes.
